HBI Seminar Series with Shula Mola, "Formation of Blackness in Israel: The Case of Ethiopian Jews"

Prior to their immigration to Israel, the Ethiopian Jewish community did not describe itself as “black,” but found this term was applied to them in Israel. Shula Mola’s talk explored the construction of the category of blackness in contemporary Israeli society and its application to the Ethiopian community.
